[edit] The Kingdom of Amaranth
Amaranth is both the name of the Kingdom and the central founding city itself. The kingdom is made up of four duchies, each divided into Marches and Counties. It is bounded on all sides by natural barriers: ice to the north, water to the west, mountains to the south, and desert to the east. There is a wider world, but the kingdom is largely self-contained and self supporting, with minor skirmishes across it's various borders, although those aren't very disputed, there is some raiding and fighting. There's some disagreements between the different territories, duchies, marches and counties, as well, since they are largely sovereign within their own lands.
The kingdom is also made up of citizenry of many races, with elvish forests, halfling burrows, and dwarven mines. Few of the non-human races are in position of nobility, although some of the Counts and Lord Holders are of the "lesser" races. Some smaller area, enclaves and reservations are self-governing by treaty with Amaranth.
